My wife wanted a digital voice recorder for Christmas so I bought her a Sandisk Sansa View 16g MP3 player that recorded voice and FM radio as well. I was impressed with the features it had however the MP3 side sounded terrible. She really liked the thing but I couldn't get over how bad music sounded. No base and very little mid range. It sounded as though you were listening through a tin can. Although it had a graphic equalizer, when you adjusted the thing because of the lack of base and mid range it would just distort. It may have been caused by the cheap head phones or ear buds as some may call them that was supplied with it but I wasn't willing to go out and buy another set and hope that fixed the sound problem. I exchanged it for the Samsung YP-P2 8g player. Although it wasn't supposed to record voice or FM radio. (so I have been told) Now here is the fun part. When I got the P2 home I read the owners manual which stated to run the install disk and follow the instructions to download Samsung Media. Well I ran the disk and it told me to install this thing called EmoDio. Nowhere could I find Samsung Media Download on the disk. I went ahead and installed Emodio which updated the firmware on the player at the same time. After the install was finished we downloaded a bunch of songs easily and I was impressed with the sound quality. I found that the thing would record FM radio and had a digital voice recorder feature as well. I then tried to download photos and video using Emodio Media. It told me that I had the incorrect codec for the player to except photos or video and provided a link to a site that wanted me to pay for it. I'm thinking this is bs. I searched for a codec that would work for free. I found a down load called VLC Media. All is fine now as far as I can tell. If anyone can let me know what's up with this thing please let me know. I haven't had time to try Windows Media and see if it works with it as the Sansa did.. P.S. sorry for the long post.

Update. When I use Windows Media Player and click on pictures I get all the pictures but when I click on a particular picture to enlarge it I get a bunch of vertical or horizontal lines. Help.... I have uninstalled WMP and reinstalled it. Same results. Obtw I also have Picasa which works well but to transfer a photo or video is a pia.
