I rented a free DoD that expires soon, but I don't see it on my DVR at all, but I do see it on dishonline under "My Rentals":

Highlander - HD Version
Available until: Wednesday April 18, 12:24am

Is there something I'm doing wrong, or is there a known workaround to get this to show on my DVR menu to watch it?

This is a long time bug of dish dvr which they havent rectified which makes me believe that this was intentional.

Recently had the same issues with Spartacus ondemand. Dl a couple of episode to watch next day thinking this ago old bug is fixed. Checked next day & nada in my rentals. Has to redownload it to view it.

Don't understand why dish just don't come out & say it that their ondemand feature has drm license only for 24 hrs.

Try going into dish on demand, then all tv shows, then my rentals. Thats where i find my rentals
Nope, list is empty.

It almost seems like Dish has abandoned the ViP series with the release of Hopper. The 722K software hasn't been updated in 4 months and the 722 software hasn't been updated in 2. Both have had this bug for at least the last 4-6 months.

Thanks. Can't believe I didn't see those threads. Creating this thread didn't suggest any duplicates, either.

Talk me out of leaving dish
