I have a Samsung HCM422W. A 42" HDTV. I've had it three years. It died within the first year. I got it fixed under warranty. A couple of months ago, it died again. This time, out of warranty and terminal. The "blue" tube leaked onto the deflection board and smoked it.
I figured I was screwed, but I decided to call Samsung anyway just as a longshot. Long story short, after a couple of weeks, Samsung has agreed to buy back my t.v. at a pro-rated rate and sell me a new t.v. at mfgr cost. They will deliver my new t.v. and haul away the dead one.
I expected to be told by Samsung that I was out of luck. I am very happy that they are doing something for me.
My replacement will be a 42" DLP model.
Just thought I'd pass this along.
