Ok I got to see the FedEx man again today. I got a new SL1PLL LNBF and GeoSatPro 90cm Dish. Dish was great and had it together in a few minutes. So I used that dish of course to test the new LNBF. My favorite LNBF for a long time was the Chaparral Universal. I don't really need universal but I bought several LNBF's cause I was never truly satisfied until I found the Chaparral. It worked way better than any other I tried. Well that was until about 3 weeks ago when wallyhts was nice enough to send me a Avenger PLL321S-2. As soon as I installed it my signals across the board improved dramatically.
Now today I get the SL1PLL. So using the same dish, the GeoSatpro 90cm I locked it on 125W just carefully changed out LNBF's from then on. I tried all three. I would delete all transponders and do a fresh blind scan each time I changed LNBF's. Here are the results on a sunny day in Western NC. Using the microHD and no switches, with detailed blind scan.
The Avenger PLL321S-2 scanned in 6 transponders and missed Montana on 12106 so I added it manually.
Transponder Quality
1. 12036 58
2. 11980 72
3. 12060 Bad fluctuating from 25~58
4. 12112 30
5. 12140 67
6. 12180 67
Montana 65
The Chaparral Scanned in 7 transponders and missed 12060, but did catch Montana
Transponder Quality
1. 12036 56
2. 12150 72
3. 11980 71
4. 12060 would not lock after manual add.
5. 12112 28
6. 12140 58
7. 12180 65
Montana 72
The GeoSatPro SL1PLL scanned in 9 transponders
Transponder Quality
1. 12036 67
2. 12150 70
3. 12169 70
4. 11980 74
5. 12060 ~51 fluctuating too.
6. 12106 71
7. 12112 35
8. 12140 70
9. 12180 73
Should have made a fancy table I guess but their you go. So I am very impressed with the this LNBF so far. It is pretty close to the 321, but you can't beat a lifetime warranty. I now have a new favorite.
