Multi-sport package

Even most college sports is in HD.
I'm not sure where you're getting that information -- that's not even true for master feeds from C-band.

We are talking about the sports pack, which means RSN, so games in HD or SD on OTA broadcast are of no concern. All Pro sports on RSNs are now in HD. If the provider carries the HD broadcast is a different issue.
It's all dependent on which production trucks are used for the broadcast. While all the RSNs have HD broadcast feeds, getting the game video packaged is still reliant on the production trucks at the venue.

For a quick behind-the-scenes for the production trucks, you can check out this video: Inside the Rays: TV Time

And there are still a number of trucks out there that are still primarily SD broadcast vehicles. See this article about the truck used for Angels spring training games: Coastal Media Hybrid Truck Helps Fox Sports Boost Spring-Training Coverage, Cut Costs : Sports Video Group

How many channels do you get

Does it include all of the channels in the 400's, & the college sport channel?
Versus?

Per the website, it includes channel 155 (NFL RedZone), 409-453, 474-479

It will get you access to programming on the channels that is not covered by a pro sports blackout (ie, games that would be on NBA League Pass) or college game blackout (ie, games on ESPN Gameplan).

Versus is in AT250 and DishAmerica Gold (formerly TurboHD Gold) only.

In addition to those mentioned by espaeth, Multi-Sport also gives you ESPN Classic 143, NFL Network 154, NBA TV 402, NHL Network 403, and Horse Racing 404 and 405.

It does not include Golf Channel 401 or Versus 151. Also, all regional sports channels are blacked out during the telecast of out-of-market MLB baseball.

I just got the package today so this is the current line-up.

I have AT120+, so NFL Net, NBA TV and NHL Net (plus ESPN Classic) were all new to me. You are right about 404 and 405, I had forgotten about them.

So, as discussed previously in this thread, folks with AT200 and higher have to pay twice for NFL Net, NBA TV and NHL Net if they want Multi-Sport.

no they dont

AT200 includes what I posted above...If they add the multisports pack they get the RSN's, ESPN Classic and NFL Red Zone per the dish site...now if they added those 3 stations to AT120+ then it is a plus for you

I did not get those 3 stations with AT120+. I only started getting them when I added the multisport package yesterday. Dish advertises them as part of multisport, see
MultiSport Package - From DISH Network

That's why it seemed to me that AT200 customers should pay less for multisport, as AT200 already includes 3 of the most important channels on multisport. But Dish does not see it that way, as the multisport price is the same for all customers.

That isnt the same page I can see. The one I show has $7 as the price (not 5,99) and is confusing

The wording in regards to the package says "Introducing NFL RedZone on channel 155 - the channel that will change your Sundays forever. Subscribe to Multi-Sport and receive NFL RedZone, NBA TV, NHL Network and over 25 local sports networks."

but then below that it says channels 155, 409-453 and 474-479 which the channel numbers doesnt include NBA TV & NHL Network.....they dont even mention espn classic in that either
Sports Programming and Sports Channels Available at DISH Network

Hello, Iam new here guys. I want to know, if I live in Ohio and I order the Multi sports package will I get Sportsouth channel 437? I have dish network and the top 200 package. Thanks.

Some list I see has the sportsouth channel 437 and some do not. I have had different stories from CSR's at Dish. If someone can give me a concrete answer I would appreciate it. Thanks

I am not getting anything on 437 but am getting Fox Sports South on 420.

On wikipedia it says sportsouth is available in the southeast states only. It says it is available nationwide with directv. I was told by different people at dish that I can and can't get it with the MSP outside of the southeast. I am just trying to see if anyone at all can get sportsouth channel 437 with MSP that lives out of the southeast. Thanks

With the Multi-Sport package, you get all the Fox regional sports channels, including Fox Sports South on ch. 420, but MLB baseball and some other events are blacked out, except the events on your local Fox Sports channel, which you would get even without Multi-Sports.

At least that's the way it has been working for me. I just ordered Multi-Sport 2 days ago.

Yeah I have read other threads about the blackout rules for pro sports. I am mostly interested in the fox sports south and sportsouth channels ( 420 and 437 ) for college sports from the S.E.C. and coaches shows. Does channel 437 show up in your giude now that you have MSP?

No 437 in my guide. It says on
EKB: Dish Network Channel Chart (Unofficial)
that 437 is "GA, AL, MS, TN, SC & Western NC Only"

It says on Wikipedia that 437 is now available nationwide on DirecTV:

"There are two major differences between Fox Sports South and SportSouth:

* SportSouth plans to air only programs of interest to the region, much as Prime Ticket does in Southern California. Jeff Genthner, vice president and general manager of Fox Sports South and SportSouth, cited a program currently in the works on Hawks rookie Shelden Williams' first year in the NBA as one example. Thus, only Fox Sports South will carry national FSN games, such as those from the Big 12 and Pac-10 Conferences. The two channels also try to put virtually all Southeastern Conference or Atlantic Coast Conference games on one channel or the other, again often targeted to regional vs. national interests.
* SportSouth is blacked out in areas not covered by the ZIP codes in the regional coverage area. For example, viewers of DirecTV's "Sports Pack" in other parts of the United States will not receive the channel. The blackout policy dates back to the days of Turner/Time Warner ownership. However, as of August 2007, it appears the restrictions have been lifted on DirecTV and "Sports Pack" subscribers are now receiving the channel without blackouts (except during major league sporting events)[citation needed].
* Fox Sports South also covers a somewhat wider broadcast area, and offers a variety of different MLB, NBA, and NHL teams, depending on location."

SportsSouth is the old Turner South that was available only in the states you posted. The main reason was TS had general programming (non sports or paid programming) on there like sitcoms.

Interesting that SS didnt lift that "ban" because they are mainly all sports and paid programs

It is interesting that I read on wikipedia that in 2007 the ban was lifted and people with the sportspack on directv could get sportsouth nationwide. Is there a ban by sportsouth that won't allow dish network to air it nationwide with their MSP?

My experience from the past couple of years.....

MSP is great for college football season. Do not expect to get all the SEC games, for example, if you live in the Midwest, but you will get some here and there (why the hell would you want that garbage, but that's another story for another day, Go Bucks!).

I order MSP in mid-August, so I get NFL Redzone, ESPN Classic to catch extra college football games that are moved to that channel, and the Fox channels that will show different games. Almost every Saturday night, there is a Pac-10 game that starts at 10 or 10:30p and goes until well past 1 am EST, so its the last game of the day for me and I catch it too. Good stuff.

If you are hoping to see every Ole Miss game, sorry, you are gonna get Wofford vs. Bethune-Cookman instead, except for the occasional surprise here and there. You will get some coaches shows, blah blah blah, but other than Saturdays, I don't watch those channels.

NFL Redzone itself is AWESOME. It is easily worth $7 alone, even if it is for 8 hours once a week for 16 weeks.

To each their own. Good luck. I didn't know I can add it for the year at a discounted rate.....I am going to try to do that tomorrow! During basketball season, you can catch some off the wall games too.

Combining OTA antenna and Dish Network 722k rcvr outputs.
