Are there any fta's that have mpeg4 ? . i am trying to get nimiq 5 , but , i don't believe my existing receivers will work . thanks. :up

Nimiq 5 is using turbo 8PSK now so unless you have the card in it (the illegal folks I guess still try and use them) you wont log anything..

Not even the azbox can log the TP's and that receiver will log just about anything. You can still get 77W on the azbox. Couple goodies there

But **most** of the HD receivers can do MPEG4 and surely the new ones. I know the Quali wont and the Neusat 9000 wont. azbox, Coolsat 8000/8100, Diamond, Pansat 9200 etc will work

would the viewsat or sonicview HD units work ? sorry to sound thick , but an azbox is not in my word recognition yet . i always like new goodies , so , 77w it is. thanks for the info. :up

Sonicview yes
Viewsat unknown...probably
azbox is a newer receiver that a few of us have. Will do most signals sent out (DVB-S2 & 4:2:2 along with the normal 4:2:0 and MPEG2 & MPEG4)

The Viewsat 9000 will do MPEG4 so I'm pretty sure that the VS Max will too.

Just don't bother with any high bitrate feeds. Most of the time they just reboot themselves or hang. Big surprise.

Real shame where the 9000 is a dual tuner that would record from both tuners at once and has an ATSC tuner that's supposed to work the the DVR functions too.
