Oh, you found themI edited my post to show you the steps. Look at above post.
Now these steps will make the receiver respond to only one certain remote?I think this is what I've been looking for (IR version.)
Programming a second (or third, forth etc.) remote for a receiver already in RF mode is no different than programming the first one. I have one receiver with four RF remotes. You can also program any position on the remote, except the TV position, for IR or RF control of a DirecTV receiver.
Start by making sure the remote is set for the default IR code:
Mode switch to DirecTV, AV1 or AV2 as appropriate
Press and hold Mute and Select for two blinks (takes several seconds)
Enter: 00001
Then program the remote for RF and the receiver you want to control:
To activate the RF transmitter on your DIRECTV Remote
Control, perform the following steps:
1. Locate the 12 digit Receiver ID (RID) number of your
DIRECTV Receiver. You can find the RID number on
the back panel of your receiver, or inside the CAM
access door next to the reset button.
2. Write down the last six digits of the RID number.
3. Slide the mode switch to DIRECTV, AV1, or AV2.
4. Press and hold the MUTE and SELECT keys until the
green light under the selected switch flashes twice and
release both keys.
5. Using the number keys, enter 9 6 1. (The green light
flashes twice.)
6. Press and release CHAN UP. (The green light flashes
twice.)
7. Using the NUMBER keys, enter the the last six digits of
the RID number. (See step 2 above.)
8. Press and release the SELECT key. (The green light
flashes twice.)

Or is this the way to set it for RF?
Because this info is right in the remote settings in your receiver as well. if you clicked on RF
What does what your doing exactly do ? Do it make the remote only operate a certain receiver?Part of it is,
I don't think the part about placing the rec. number is anywhere on the setup guide.
Nor is the part about putting in the 00001 number in the beginning.
I think, (and it's still speculation till I am able to do it) the rec ID tells the remote to control the particular rec.
Just so I can undo it if it doesn't work !

You mean in RF mode? Thats simple, cant you just enter what it tells you too on the remote settings on your receiver?I'm trying to make more than one remote control 1 rec.

I guess I never ran into the problem your running into, When I had my H20 using the RF feature and my remote broke, I went and bought a new remote from Best Buy, Came home reprogrammed the New remote to RF ,Not doing anything other then entering the code thats under the remotes setting in the receiver. It was like 5 numbers and hit channel up. Done ! To take it out of RF and switch it to IR was Mute- Select 961 channel down. Now its back to IR.
Again I have 2 remotes RC32 that both will operate my R 16 right now in RF mode
By going into the Setup,Under remote,
switch IR/RF, click RF
Mute-Select
Enter 961 channel up
type 134796 as its says right on the screen
then push select,
then scroll down on the word done.
RC 64 is not an RF remote .
