MPEG2/MPEG4-What?

Hello all

Please excuse me for posting a NEW thread, if I should have posted this in an existing thread. Also excuse me if this question has already been answered.

I just want to make sure I have this right wrt 5lnb dishes.

Am I right in thinking that the only programs I will receive in MPEG4 are my local HD channels and that all the other channels will be in the current MPEG2?

For a decent while yes, only LIL HD will be MPEG4 only. After some time, no one knows when, you will begin to see some premiums go MPEG4, but they will probably overlap MPEG2 as well. After more time, maybe late 2007, you MIGHT begin to see some mass MPEG4 conversion of premiums to MPEG4 only (turning off the MPEG2 streams). MAYBE Longhorn will drop more on this if he has anything.

no, not yet. i would wait to hear around Q2 or summer '06
