Mp2/MP4

Reading the Tech Chat there was a comment that as of Dec 1 everything would be MP4. I use a 4000 receiver that I haul around in the service bay of my motorhome, mainly because it has a UHF remote and is out of the way. The dumb-ass question is will my 4000 still work after Dec 1? Everything is SD so HD is not a concern now until the day I upgrade TV's.

The comment means that any HD channels that are still mpeg2 will be mpeg4 on December 1st. Any mpeg2 receiver getting those mpeg2 HD channels will no longer get them come Dec. Sd channels will not be affected.

Would be nice to use standard acronyms known for everyone.

MPEG-2 and MPEG-4.
