I am moving, and I've been a DirecTV customer for 20 years. I have an old standard def TiVo DVR and a high def DirecTV rental DVR. I would like to be able to use both or at the very least the high-def DVR with the new Genie equipment that I am going to be getting when I move. Is this possible? Are they compatible? I don't need to have the genie do any other recordings for it I just want it to be able to be used as an additional TV.

Sure you can. Instead of a swm lnb that the tivo won't work with, you can get a swm switch instead.

How about my current rented direct tv HD receiver? Could I just plug that into the new system and have that work or do I need something different to get that set up?
