Moving from 522

So with the news of the upcoming external storage I guess it is time for me to start thinking about upgrading my receiver. I have a 522, but would love to have the external option with a 622 or 722. My biggest problem is my kids have TONS of shows saved and we don't want to lose them. Would there be a way for us to move those shows over? Does the fact I have bundled with at&t hurt my options? Please inform and discuss!

I don't know of any way to move those show to a different reciever (copyright issues and all), and I'm not sure of which receivers you can get w/ ATT+E* (I have a 522 w/ them, also).
However, here's what I would do (and indeed, do): hook up Dish to your PC. Run some wires (coxial/RCA) from your receiver/TV/VCR to your PC (you'll need a TV tuner card in or attached to the computer), it's the same thing as hooking two TV's up together, and install some software to record the video feed (usually comes w/ the card).
Cost: $30-100 (depends on quality)
Or, if you ALREADY have a Media Center PC, you're set to go!

Hook up to a standalone Dvd Recorder or Tivo/Replay dvr to archive is another option...
