I would not concentrate on all westerns or any one theme, of course, gotta have plenty of variety, like this:

And some classic war movies like "The Great Escape"! One of my all time favorites!

And this one too!

I guess that I really do gravitate to the good ole westerns, though! .....

If we're going to have a wide range of genre's...add

Orson Wells...Citizen Kane.....Jane Eyre
Jacki Gleason...Gigot...any Honeymooners episode
Errol Flynn....Robin Hood
Gary Cooper...Sgt York...The Fountainhead

Now Anole knows why I like WSTV!

Begging your pardon everyone, but this is my way of "polling" for support - and I don't mean monetarily, I mean "Do you like it, the idea and the notion and would you support it"? If you like what my programming ideas are this far, please let me know.

I have a lot of notions, but I need to feel out the public pulse on every avenue before I ever present this to anyone who is going to supply capital to put it all together. You understand, it takes money and I need to prove that it is all worth it.

If there is overwhelming excitement for this opportunity, and a strong, broad based, public support, I might just be able to talk some benefactors into lending us the money to carry it out.

Please stick with me if you really, really like this idea! I need your help, you know! I want to do this so much! But I won't be able to pull it off without everyone here and then some.

Sounds good to me.

How about The Rifleman?

And let's have a sci-fi day or night too!

Absolutely!

You know, I would like to see several channels, each with it's own genre, but monetarily I don't think that is going to happen right away. This is going to take a long time to gather support and funds.

I will be lucky to just get one channel up there, but I am going to try awfully damn hard! Because I really do believe in it! I think it can be done and I am going to try! :up

I LOVE THE IDEA. Provided some of the highfalutin ideas panned out, I would be in for $10-$20- /mo.

Provided you get money, the technical aspect is cookbook for anyone who is technical enough.

Can you get or afford the programming with that business model? A lot of the programming ideas look like NBC-Universal copyrights. Wouldn't you would be competing with RTV for the NBC-Universal television syndication?

I'm one of those mean-spirited pragmatists. So after perceiving that people want to be happy about this, I curbed my mouth. :exclamati Now, to there I will return. Best of wishes...

Mmmhh... god knows that what got me hooked on Sci-Fi channel when it began was their 1950's B movies, cheesy sci-fi terror/horror, that paired with a good sci-fi movie/show and horror a-la George A. Romero + those slasher movies from the 1980's (friday 13th, a nightmare on elm's stret... O.O

Cheers

I've got a programming question for you Gordy. If you start with just one channel, what time zone will it be in? And while we're on the subject, when you get everything up and running do you plan to do single time zone feeds, or East Coast/West Coast?

I don't know what the genre is, but I'd like to see some shows like BJ and the Bear, Sheriff Lobo, Dukes of Hazzard, etc... or maybe some Burt Reynolds movies like Smokey & the Bandit.

LoTech,

Let's just assume that I am lucky enough to get this off the ground and honestly have it operational and it lasts for a long time.

I think that I would simply air it on Central Time, because I live in that time zone, it would be easy to facilitate. Broadcast the same programs to everyone in "real time" with no offset.

I guess that would be something that would require some looking into. If it doesn't or wouldn't be too expensive, I would like to set it up so that local time in every area would view the same show at the same time.

That would be nicer, but not always practical.

I can't believe I didn't see "Have Gun Will Travel" listed anywhere, or "Wanted" Dead or Alive

In other genre's, I'd like to see "Lost in Space"

VoomVoom,

I did include those in my original post about the "New TV Channel", all except for "WANTED, Dead or Alive". I would have to add that one.

I simply started this particular thread for a purpose of attracting some attention and support for the cause. I hope it all sounds really interesting to you and others.
