I was cleaning up some channels tongiht, and came across the movie The Final Countdown in English! I love this movie! Anyway I found it on IA5/G25 on the channel Assyriasat. No subtitles and no commercials! In case your interested, this movie is about the aircraft carrier USS Nimitz that gets sent back in time to the days before Pearl Harbor. It is interesting watching 1980's fighter planes taking on Japenese Zeros :)

I remember that movie, It's been awhile since I've seen that. I loved the F-14 tomcats against the Japanese Zeros:)

It now has a lady playing a keyboard or harp or something..... says KBES- KBSV and a phone # here in the states. She is speaking a foreign language. Interesting.

OK, call me a nerd...I just called the number...the lady on TV answered in foreign language, I said "hello" she spoke english. I told her I love their station. She said the are broadcasting from Celinas? California. She asked where I was calling from, I told her. I know...boy I am a nerd. My daughter and I was watching the lady on tv as she talked to me :) hehe.

It appears to be a radio station. She is not playing and instrument but is a "dj" of sorts. Here is the info: 11867 V 22000

From Wiki:
KBSV (TV 23 Assyria Vision) is an Assyrian television station that serves the Modesto, Stockton, and Sacramento, California areas.

It was the first Assyrian television station in the world, and began broadcasting on April 14, 1996. It began webcasting 24 hours a day in 1997. It operates at the Bet-Nahrain Assyrian Cultural Center in Ceres, California, who also operates KBES radio (89.5 FM). The channel is run by the Bet-Nahrain Democratic Party

I really liked that movie. My favorite part was at the end where the now older couple go to meet the ship. I love those kinds of "things" in the movies that have dealt with time travel.

Maybe I should get around to moving some of those foriegn language channels to the favorite list that we usually use, which is all basically the stuff that's usually 100% English...

Yes, The Final Countdown is one of my all-time favorite time travel movies, just behind the Back to the Future series! Very interesting premise, and well written/acted :)
