Hello, I have a question for all of the experts out there. I was wanting to set up my dish on a tripod in one of my bedrooms looking out the window. Would I be able to get a signal through the glass?

What type of glass is it? Is it an energy efficient window that may be double paned, coated or gas injected. This MIGHT effect the signal. If it is just your plain garden variety, single pane glass, then you should be OK.

Do you have the exact coordinates through that window?

It's just a normal glass window. Thanks for your help guys....I just have to have sunday ticket!

Do you think it will be fairly easy for me to set it up myself, or is there certain guidelines that I need to follow?

The coordinates will be the first step; do you have those? If not, are you using a single LNB dish or a PhaseIII AND what is your zip? Then you can use a compass to "look" out the window of your choice to determine if your dish can "see" the satellite(s). This is called a site survey. Once you have done that the rest is cake!
