Mountain West Conference Re-alignment

They'll probably get the Big East bid.:D

et tu, Brute?

I sort-of-like this whole scenario, because it means that Boise/TCU/etc will need to play > 1 good team a year.

Boise's scenario of beating an overhyped VPI in the opener, and cruising to the NC game sickens me. They're good, very good, but they won't prove it on the field, with that schedule.

No different than how Oklahoma used to cruise to the NC game.
It's been that way forever in the top heavy conferences.

Har, har.

Put Texas on your schedule every year and tell me how easy it is. Then throw in Nebraska and/or Missouri two years out of four.

OU's out-of-conference "cruise" this year is to Cincinnati, last year's Big-East Champion.

That Conference has been all messed up for years.. what is stupid is how Boise St constantly gets a weak schedule and goes undefeated these last few years. Well this time it ain't going to happen..they got VATech on the first game and the Hokies will stop that little run real quick with two of the nations fastest and yard producing RB's along with a awesome returning QB!

That's why I said "used to". Remember the Big 8 days? Pretty much whoever won between Oklahoma & Nebraska cruised undefeated.

Now with the Big 12 it's the same thing, it's just that Nebraska has been replaced by Texas in the top heaviness.

Yep, just like they did East Carolina... oops...

Yep, except OU played Texas AND Nebraska every year back then. Nebraska didn't play Texas.

They beat East Carolina the first year and 3rd year they played them. I was at that Panther stadium game, horrible last min and blocked kick to win. Don't forget ECU also went on to beat a top ranked team of West VA the week after..they had their act together for a little while...never count them out. It happens but I don't see a single point or TD costing this game for the Hokies this time.

LMAO I had to look that up.

I was joking, notice the smilie. People always say the Big East doesn't deserve a BCS bid.

What if they somehow win? Then do you think they are for real or will you say VT is having a down year?

They won't beat VT... and VT never has a down year, they have down games but never a down year. Besides Texas VT has had the most 10win seasons than any other team...and still going.

Uh, Appy St ring a bell? It could happen.

Definitely can and has happened, that's why I brought up East Carolina.
VT has a bad tendency of not living up to expectations.

The Alabama game wasn't that bad, sure they lost but they put more points on the board against them than any other team including Florida last season. Problem with VT over the years was the Offense was always in question... the Defense reloads every year under Bud Foster, this year the Offense will be awesome and a reloaded Defense is never in question. This will likely be the best year VT has for going undefeated since the year Vick lead the team.

Never a DOWN year ? 10 wins consecutive record ?

In '03/'04 you were 8-5

I would consider that to be a down year.

IF ANY MAJOR school lost 5 GAMES in one year would not be considered a very good year.

So thats a 6 year streak, I gotta believe that there are other teams that have accomplished more 10 game wins straight than that.
