Motorola DSR 500 Remote problem

The remote for my DSR 500 has never worked right. When I press the up and down channel buttons, it skips down as if I hit the button twice. Many of the other buttons act that way as well. I do have one of the older (black) UHF remotes and while it doesn't skip, it is really slow.

I really don't want to buy another remote. Starchoice I don't think can help (I have a US address), so I think I am kind of in a pickle.

Does anyone else have the same problem? Any ideas on a fix?

The old trick with Motorola remotes is to pull the batteries and leave them out overnight. Sometimes that works.

Most programmable remotes will work. Also Motorola 4DTV and Voom remotes work as well

Tried that, left the batteries out for a week, still no go. You try and push the buttons as quickly as possible and half the time it is like you pressed a button twice. It applies to the numbers as well as the +channel- button....

We've got a large number of VOOM Infrared remote controls that will work with your DSR-500 and other Star Choice receivers.
Check the Global Communications website for pictures and functions.
I actually like this remote better than the average Star Choice remote simply because the buttons are more intelligently placed.
