Motor and Dish Elevations??

I am sure that this is not a new topic but, I have looked around and could not find some information concerning my question. I finally received my Invacon dual LNB (Circular/Linear) and would like to use it. I am a bit confused on where to set the Elevation angles for the motor and the dish elevations, is the Elevation angle of the motor set to the same angle of elevation to my closest True South satellite that I am to view which happens to be Nimiq 1,3 or set to a 30 degrees angle?. I do not have a manual for the motor for it got wasted during Hurricane Katrina's deed. Any help is greatly appreciated and welcomed.

Depends on where you are in the country and what kind of motor you are using! The motor is usually set to your LATITUDE.

Thank you for the information. Very interesting chart. How can I have or obtain a print out of the whole list that you gave me. I just tried to do it and it only gave a half page of the list.

Avenger, I'm in Metairie. Set your SG-2100 to 30.1 on the LATITUDE scale (the scale on the left side of the motor bracket looking from behind it) and don't touch it again. Afterwards, only tweak your elevation on the dish mount itself.

Dish elevation for us is about 25, but don't always trust the dish elevation scale implicitly. You'll have to do some slight tweaking.

Our true south satellite is at 91w (there are a couple of satellites there, Nimiq 1 for the circular side of your LNBF and Galaxy 11 for the linear ) or 89w (IA-8)...

EDIT: Forgot that you're on the east side of the metro. You're probably closer to IA-8 at 89w...
