More Precise Blind Scans

The GeosatPro calls it Detailed Scan. The Openbox calls it Accurate Scan.

What exactly do these more precise scans do that a Blind Scan doesn't? Do they simply scan more slowly? Or do they seek signals buried in the noise with lower C/N? I've often wondered if the additional time to use these scans is worth it.

The timeout is increased to allow more time to analyze the transport stream.

This is why some transponder services are not reliably logged during a blind scan, but logged during a transponder scan which might be coded to allow a longer timeout.

Makes no difference on typical fat TPs, but enables service logging on other TPs. Only useful if it logs more services...
