Based on my experience with D* and some replys from this (very helpful) forum, I have decided to have the Dish installer use the diplexer I currently have with my D* install with my upcoming Dish install.

I have 3 questions about all of this:

1) Will the Dish installer remove the D* dish that's on my roof? I hope so, as that's where I want the new dish installed (and the antenna is mounted right beside as well).

2) Will he be able to use the existing lines that D* used or will he have to run "all new"? Seems like they should be interchangeable, but I don't know.

3) How much is more or less the "going rate" to have the guy install the diplexer? My neighbor did it for my DirecTV set-up; took him less than 5 minutes. Unfortunately, he has since moved away.

I just want to be armed with some knowledge so I don't get taken for a ride by a potentially opportunistic installer!

Thanks again, this forum has been invaluable.

1. Should be able to if you ask him to.
2. Should be able to use all the same lines as long as they are RG6 cable.
3. I have no idea how much for a diplexor install and you might just have to make a fair offer. If the sat installer can install a sat dish , he should be able to do your antenna install with diplexors too.
