I recently left VOOM because the service was acting like it was constantly in a rain storm and stuttering. Also Certain channels said I needed to subscribe which I didnt (like stars) and ESPNHD showed The Movie Channel and ESPNHD was nowhere to be found.

I reset the box etc.. hard and soft reboot also tryed another box and it was fine for the night. The next day it was doing the same thing.

I was fed up I cancelled the service and have went back to Directv. My main question is WHERE IS ALL THE HDTV? Are they gonna add anymore anytime soon?

They have confirmed the addition of BravoHD and NBC-HD ... the others ... sheesh 2005 buddy. They are using most of the HD bandwidth this year for the NFL ST @ 6 games a week.

Wasting bandwidth also. Why have 2 showtime hd, and 2 hbo hd's. Same thing on both. As for them adding more, I ain't holding my breath. I am sure that it will be something that you will have to pay extra to get. They ain't going to do much for just a regular hd package holder.

They should have some more this fall.

This is just a guess, and pinhead might not like rumors, but DirecTV recently posted their schedule for Sunday Ticket, and ONE of the channels being used for the ST HD games is channel #91, which means that Showtime HD will have to be moved. I wouldn't be surprised if DirecTV's new channel lineup might give us a hint as to their upcoming HD plans.

OMG, This has been pissing me off for 8 months! I actually cancelled all premiums until they have StarzHD ... and e-mailed them as much, so they know. Although, if they fail to get better, and voom fixes their host of issues I'll jump ship in a heartbeat. StarzHD and ESPN-HD are the only two channels I care about. I have watch DISC maybe twice and HDNet channels suck unless hockey is on and the AVS games are always blocked. Dare I say cable!?!?! Man I HOPE NOT.

Where did you see NFT ST HD will be 91. Do we know what the other channels will be? I'm concerned because my signal from 110 sucks (trees). So I'm hoping they all go on 119.

He saw it here :)

Oh cool, that's new. Also, I have it backwards. I get 110, but not 119. Looks like I may be in luck, since 91 and 99 are on 110.

There is no "wasted" bandwidth with the repeat programming. What they have done is to "mirror" the feed onto two different channel assignments. It's the same feed going up, being mapped to two channel assignments in your box.

Still doesn't excuse them for not having Starz or Cinemax, at least, but doesn't take up additional bandwidth. It was the lack of adding channels that caused me to go with Comcast about 8 months ago, and I've been pretty happy since then. Always looking to see what's available and who can satisfy me, however.

So this is channel mapping only ... makes sense. Comcast sucks (IMHO) I waited 4 years for those jerks to get cable modem to my area ... now they say NO HD for LOVELAND ... well screw them.

Starz HD would be a great addition. Directv certainly does need to get on the ball with more HD. I am getting worried that COX will add more soon after i just canceled my digital cable. At least i get sunday ticket, so it was worth it.

Slacker- Maybe you they will offer you that grand junction (KREX,KREY,KREG?) shoddy news channel in high def. Kind of far but well worth it, to see that idiot evening newsmans unibrow in HD, that would be a dream. I only wish i still lived in CO to enjoy more Grand Junction local news...................

We have Kathy Sabine .... meow meow!!!!!!!! prime time weather never looked so good! So I think this means our war is over? Good thing we were ticking the others- off bad ... that is not good, too selfish. You caught me after giving upo a pet cat and I was trying to quit smoking ... cat is fine, so are the smokes.

No hard feelings?

Yo you should have stuck with Voom that was a simple fix, the problem was a voltage issue with your cables or your LNB. Too bad you shut the door on more HD and a provider dedicated to HD because Voom's third party technicians are dumbasses. D* has tons of SD, you gotta constantly call and tell them you want as much HD as Voom was offering you. I think the East and West feeds make a difference for timing there are just shows you miss on the East coast time, however when Voom's DVR launches I agree it will be a moot issue. StarzHD is cool but I have been more happy with EncoreHD, don't know why, recently I've watched Two Towers, Scarface, Casino, and a few other movies on Encore, and they look/sound great.

Recently Voom added Fox FSN Florida in standard and HD, the Tyson fight was in the best HD I've ever seen for free for Voom Customers. If you seriously want more HD monitor events between Voom and D* and what each are planning to do in the coming months, for sure HD is getting into a very exciting time IMO.

If D* is adding 24 HD channels and the 8-10 HD games a week on the sunday ticket... I think I will in the end be happy I returned to D*

Not to mention my fiance was dying without her MTV2 and other channels D* had. She hated Voom for some reason...

The main thing I watch is NFL Network which is SD anyways and any movies we have watched have pissed us off because the picture will flicker to black then come back in... plus the audio drops out randomly.

All the above has been fixed it ended up being firmware issues, too bad Voom didn't do more to keep you guys.
