MODE R?

I seen USA channel on ku band but it was in R rather then V and H. Can you get dish network with mode R or do you have to use their equipment?

USA channel is probably scrambled. R means right-hand circularly polarized. To use dish network you do need their equipment and a subscription.

Thanks! The other question I had about this is if I bought the equipment, they do offer free monthly preview channels!?! would I get these just by linking in?

Not anymore. Used to be you could but they don't even have NASA in the clear now. You have to have an active subscription to even see free preview channels.
