MLB Streaming

As the Title asks :

Whats the best / recommended way to get MLB (out of town) games.

Is MLB.TV still the way to do it, or seeing the teams are scattered all over the Streaming map, other options ?

I would like to be able to get Out of Market games as well as the occasional in market teams.
With the D* Extra Inning package, if you watched an OOT team and they played your local team, you had to watch it on the Local market feed. (Which was an RSN at the time).

I want to watch the Astros, Red Sox and Tigers (I'm in the Tigers/ Guardians market) ... what is the best way this year ?

Fwiw, MLB.TV is $149 this year for the whole season.

1st, I don't need a VPN nor want one.
2nd, the question was, What options are out there for replacing the MLB E I package, or IS that the best option ?

Any early deals coming for them ?

The streaming MLB Package is still your best option.

Regular price is $149.

But, if you wait until May, during the 2 weeks before Memorial Day, it goes on sale for half off.

This has happened the last 4 years.

MLB.TV is the easiest option. If you're just wanting to stream on a TV and don't plan to stream on mobile devices you can wait until the end of March and search around on eBay for T-Mobile codes. T-Mobile subscribers get MLB.TV for free on some plans, and those that have no interest will sell their codes for $10-$15. So long as you primarily watch on your home internet you're good. Some have reported if they didn't have T-Mobile and did a lot of streaming on mobile data on other carriers it would get disabled, but it's the cheapest way. I did it last year and had no issues.

MLB-TV and MLB EI are both $149.99. Both are out-of market packages. MLB-TV has discounts for Students, Military, Veterans and First Responders of 35%. MLB EI has no discounts other than what DIRECTV might or might not give you. I have gotten it free one time and half price one time but have paid full price the rest of the time I have had it.

I didn't know if there were any other Out of Market packages for MLB, it looks like MLB TV and Extra Innings is it.

I will most likely try MLB.TV this year ... I have used it before for awhile.

D* use to give you an Early Bird or Auto Renewal discount at one point ... didn't know if MLB TV did that if you signed up early or not.

Something made me think people were getting it for like $84 last year, but that may have been a Partial year I guess or just a figure I remembered from somewhere.

Curious, IF the Detroit Tigers are my Home market .... what do I need to get them, that would be another package, right ?

I am sticking it out with DirecTV until the A's move to town. Giants fan in Las Vegas and they are considered in market. Them, as well as the A's, DBacks, Dodgers, Padres and Angels. Dodgers aren't available anywhere but DirecTV, DBacks and Padres belong to MLB and require the $19.99/month fee. I don't know if that means I'd have to pay $19.99 for each team, but it's not worth trying to figure out.

Once the A's move to town, I can go with MLB.tv for everything and skip on the A's (unless they get picked up OTA).

I am looking over my options, I am well aware of D* and the EI package, been with them for 20 years now.

MLBtv is the best option as it comes with several other features that you can't get with EI packages. This includes the ability to get radio for all games, spring training games, minor league games, and i think the picture quality overall is way better than EI

Like others have said, search online for MLBtv discounts - there are ALWAYS discounts offered. a quick one just now showed me 35% for military and 30% off for capital one credit card holders. As someone else said, they have typically run a 50% sale on memorial day every year

You get free MLB-TV with your MLB EI subscription through DIRECTV so yeah...you do get all of those options except the spring training games as your MLB EI/MLB-TV package doesn't go into effect until the regular season starts. Sometimes they do give you access before the season starts but not always.

Unfortunately, I don't qualify for any of the discounts you mentioned (I saw them on thier site earlier).
