I'll assume that is an optional package beyond what one normally subs to? How much do they get for it? Still might come out to the same since you need the 200 channel package from dish to get the channel.

But, if the Tiger game was the primary game, what channel is the alternate game on? I might have missed that in the 10 pages of posts since yesterday
Again, it is not black out rules, it is regional. Your region is scheduled to get the ChiSox and Tigers on the alternate channel. Without the alternate channel you are unable to see the game that is being broadcast in your regionwhy is the red sox/rangers game blacked out in Northern California on MLBN?

Same problem here only I'm in Minnesota. If they are trying to get me to sign up they are not impressing me.
what local market? Working fine here in the Duluth DMA. Have Welcome PackSame problem here only I'm in Minnesota. If they are trying to get me to sign up they are not impressing me.

Its been noted above...MLB Net sets their own regional coverage. If you are in the teams claimed area you're blacked out (and normally would get the alt game) but some folks get blacked out and can see the alt game too. Dish isnt carrying the alt channel yet so folks are getting screwed
not going to pay $13-15 more per month just for MLB Network when I can get the games on my MLB.TV subscription and highlights and analysis on ESPN Baseball Tonight or on the MLB.COM video section. Some of the documentaries interest me, but not at $13-15 more per month to my AT120 package.
I agree; it is stupid. The reason why I posted this 10 times already is because I knew this was going to happen. I knew people were going to be upset about the MLB Network game coverage area rules, and I knew without the Alternate channel half of the Dish subs will be left without a game half of the time. I posted this yesterday just to warn people of what to expect.Alright, I have to say, that is stupid. I totally blame MLBN for that one. People who follow my posts know I'm not hesitant to lambast Dish Network on occasion if it's warranted, but in this case, I have to give them a pass. I mean, come on! What sort of nonsensical split broadcast rules are MLBN following anyway? It's not even standard blackout rules, which are confusing/annoying enough.
In a perfect world, I'd just say any nationally telecast game should be nationally telecast. No regionalization, no blackouts, no anything. If you get the channel anywhere in the 50 United States or DC, you get the game. Simple as pie. Unfortunately, sports leagues and television networks tend to overcomplicate things and turn watching your favorite team or a game of the week into some sort of weird three dimensional chess game/lottery where who knows which game if any you're going to get.
I canceled EI on Direct and went with MLB.TV this year instead because it is less expensive and I get more viewing options (more devices and more places to watch)not going to pay $13-15 more per month just for MLB Network when I can get the games on my MLB.TV subscription and highlights and analysis on ESPN Baseball Tonight or on the MLB.COM video section.
