MLB All Star Game 2011

He won't be facing the Nationals, Mets or Marlins line-up.

He won Cy Young's in both leagues. When he won in the AL East, what was the excuse then?

The Giants starting staff which is #2 in the league is better than any staff in the AL and they shut down one of the best offenses in the AL during the World Series. Good pitching will always dominate good hitting.

The Phillies starting staff puts the Giants staff to shame. Guess who the starters are in the All Star Game? The Phills and Giants starters.

Why screw up a half baked rant with perfectly good logic?

OK, but with those anemic offenses they couldn't compete 162 games in the AL, anyone can win 4 out of 7 once.

I thought you were a REDS fan?

Ok, they've won 2 since the Marlins last won one.

I was raised a Reds fan but support the local team. The Marlins have been here since '93 and the Red Sox in Boston? And the Marlins have how many WS titles? And the Red Sox? Yep, an almost 100 year head start and they have the exact same amount. Again, please lets not get into this here...don't want to look like and ugly Red Sox fan too....

Favorite MLB All Star Game you remember?

1999 Fenway Park......Ted Williams enters from under the CF gate on a golf cart, and is then surrounded on the mound by BOTH teams. Easily one of the most poignant moments in baseball history.

Then to start the game, Pedro Martinez rocks the Boston crowd by striking out Barry Larkin, Larry Walker, Sammy Sosa, Mark McGwire and Jeff Bagwell in his two innings pitched.

no way a catcher hitting .233 should make the all star team just because he is a Yankee.... Hell, Jeter should not be on there either...

I was thinking the same thing. Astrabul Cabrera is having a helluva year at short, both offensively and defensively. I'm glad he got in, but IMO, he should be starting over Jeter.

Maybe Jeter will do the classy thing and come out after the first inning, or out, technically he has to play at least the first pitch.

Since when is Ricky Weeks a home run hitter? And Robinson Cano? My goodness, this is the weakest Home Run hitting contest I have ever seen....!!!
