I am one of the "few" users who have a mixed arc setup. Not wanting to miss out on the new HD, I am stuck between somewhat of a rock and a hard place.

I have excellent LOS to the Eastern Arc. Unfortunately, my locals are on 110. There's really no place to setup a single dish to pick up all three Western Arc satellites. There are two places in my yard where I could setup a wing dish for 129, but those would involve a fairly significant cable run. I'm willing to try it if it is my only option, though.

On the other hand, is it possible to run an Eastern Arc single dish setup, and then have a switch like a DPP44 connected to 61.5, 72.7, 77, and 110?

I was poised with this same question only to find with further research that all my locals were transmitted both on 61.5 and 110 for SD and 61.5 in HD.

Check out "the list" SatelliteGuys.US - TheList above and see if your locals are on 61.5/72.7 or 77. Many markets are on both arcs.

A DPP44 can connect any combination of 4 satellites. You can have 61.5/72.7,77 and 110 without issue. You could also do 61.5, 72.7, 110, 119 if you could not see 77 for example.

A DPP dish can be a couple hundred feet away with good cable.

There are a lot of possibilities. The first place is to check the list and see if you can just use Eastern Arc.

Do you need the DPP44 switch with 61.5/72.7, 77 and 110? Can't you just input the 110 into the LNB of the 61.5/72.7, 77?

You do not need a DPP44 unless you are trying to do 4 satellites. If he was going to do all EA but locals on 110 he would need a DPP44. This is assuming he has a problem seeing 129 from his location.

If he can see 129, pointing his 61.5 dish at 129 would also solve his problem.

you can do EA with an additional sat plugged into the EA LNB

MikeD-C05 is set up that way (EA with 110) and folks who do a EA setup but want an International channel has EA with 118.7 plugged into the LNB

no add'l switch is needed unless you have a bunch of receivers

That's the configuration I have.

I originally had the 110/119/61.5 set up. Had the 61.5 wing dish replaced with a 100.4 dish, kept the Dish500 in place, and ran the 110 feed in through the 100.4.

Thanks. This is what I had and am going to switch to. Got my 1000.4 dish today. Now just have to wait for the rain to clear up, so I can install it.

I have an EA and an additional 500 for the 129 so I can get Dayton Locals. I can't wait until Dayton Locals move to the EA... my patio looks like JFK with the dual dishes.

New HD space for RSN's with the new satellite?

Do you have to have a phone line plugged in any more?
