Hi, I live in an apt. building. The owner pays for Dishnetwork and virtually all channels are included. When I first moved in he had problems with everyone's service. It was fixed a couple days later by changing out some equipment. It worked for a few days. I came home today and it's not working. I get most advertisment channels and GAC for some reason. all the other ones show green or red on the channel guide. Several, including the local channels don't show up at all.

I've gone through the tech online guide for missing channels. Running tests, unplugging for 15 seconds, etc. Any ideas out there?

Thank you all for your help!!

Reason is there is no subscription GAC is in preview mode. Your landlord may have been account stacking and been turned off or for some reason your receiver isn't being paid for.

No, the account is active according to him and dish network. I was just trying to see if there was an easy fix instead of waiting a few days for the tech. to arrive.

Advertising channels coming in tell you the receiver is getting a signal. Going to menu 6=1-1 will bring up the signal strength bar on the bottom of your screen a green bar confirms signal. Cancel and push number 3 and it should bring up diagnostics the will display your R00 and Soo numbers write them down.

Going to GUIDE brings up a list of channels if the box is red infront of the channels it means no subscription. If thr box is green it means you can call to order that programming. If light blue or white it means you are subscribed to that channel.
Seeing your are all red and green it means you need a subscription hit to turn that receiver on. Calling 800=333-3474 and giving them the R00 and S00 numbers will tell them what receiver needs an authorization hit. A service call is not needed to get the box authorized if it is receiving a signal from the satellite.:):):)
