There were 3 channels that were not broadcasting on 3/16/10 -- 630 (Toronto/Ottawa), 631 (Phoenix/Tampa Bay) and 635 (Philadelphia/Nashville). At first, there was a picture for about 5 seconds and then nothing. Later on, there was just nothing. I think they came back on after about 2 hours.
I called Dish Tech and wasted 45 minutes doing reboots (soft and hard), switch checks and countless times on hold while he checked with someone else. He then announced that he was connecting me to advanced tech but came back a few minutes later to tell me they had a high volume of calls and couldn't connect me. I asked him if he had access to a tv so he could check these channels but he said he didn't. When I suggested that it would be helpful if the technical personnel had this access so they could quickly see if there was a problem on their end, he said that was a good idea and he would suggest this to his supervisor. Duh!
So anyway I still don't know what caused the problem and was wondering if anyone else had the same problem or if it was something wrong with my equipment.
Thanks for your help.
