There's this one DirecTV commercial where the man says he has a daughter and she's upset because her favorite channels weren't there when they tried Dish out.. The channels mentioned were Disney Junior, Nick Junior, and Animal Planet. Up to about April of this year, only the Disney Junior part was true. Now Dish has all three, and DirecTV still runs the ad. How can they get away with these lies?

Oftentimes I'll see lots of fine print at the bottom of the frame (TV shot). Sometimes that verbiage will qualify the subject matter of the commercial, including time frames that establish the basis of claims.

Maybe that's the legal basis for the content?

Possibly?

TV ads are such crap now days.... if even half were true every guy in the country would make love like a teenager and have a full head of hair....

its not a lie. If you see the small print they are comparing Dish's AT120 with Directv Entertainment package

every company has ads that there is fine print. Hell how can all 4 major cell phone providers (AT&T, Verizon, Sprint and T-Mobile) claim to have the "fastest data"

Well out of the 4 all of them have at least one area where they are the fastest.

Comcast has an ad claiming that DirecTV doubles in price after 3 months. Which is true on some packages if you don't cancel the free premiums. The best part is the web address they give still doesn't have any info and just tells you to call them
