Minimum picture size

With kids in school etc I cannot justify paying for a high end set. But the question arises what is the minimal size needed for it to be worthwhile.

Feel free to break it down by CRT?LCD etc. I am jsut looking for thoughts from others that might have gone down this road before. Is a 27 or 30 inch CRT worth it or should I save my pennies till i can afford something larger?

Are you asking "what is the smallest HD set that you can actually tell is HD, because if it were any smaller it would be indistinguishable from an SD picture?"

I love my Panny CT-30WX15 30" CRT HDTV. Wish I had a 34" but it is night and day from a SD TV.

I have a Sammy 27" 4x3 HD in my camper and you can certainly tell HD from SD on it...
