Mexico signal issues

Pamela:

I'm about to try an experiment. Right now all I have is a 4 footer a 1.8 meter (5.9 ft) and a 2.4 meter (7.9 ft) offset Ku band dishes, here along the shore of Lake Chapala just south of Guadalajara. I also have a 12 foot prime focus mesh dish where the mesh is so tight that you can't push a normal pencil lead through the mesh

Now it's prime focus and was brought down from the states by a neighbor in the days of C and Ku band. This satellite dish has more than fwice the reflective area that the 2.4 meter dish has (2.3 times as much reflective surface area to be exact) Now just maybe by placing an Eagle Aspen LNB through the rings of the feedhorn, I will get a signal strength as great or a little better than the 2.4 meter dish. If so I will point it at 129 to get a little better signal, use the 2.4 meter for 119 and the 1.8 meter for 110.

I will try same about the end of next week and with a little luck, I will get good signal strength on both 119 and 129. I will of course post my results

What is the latest signal reports? I have a 2.4 in Morelia and still have recption on 110 but have been unable to get any signal on 119. Anyone getting anything on 119? I was getting decent signals on 119 before the sat swap, with a 1 meter dish, now I cannot pick anything up at all on the 2.4. Where are people still picking it up? I have been told that 2.4 still works in Lake Chapala area, is this true?

I'm using 2- 2.4 M fiberglass dishes with DP lnbs VIP 622. I'm trying to get info on switching to E* 72.7.

Sadly I will not be experimenting with my 12 foot Ku prime focus dish until some time in the new year. Once I do, I willl share the info with you here south of Guadalajara along the shores of Lake Chapala

IN Poza Rica, Veracruz

Just wondering...will be working in Poza Rica, state of Veracruz, what size dish will I need to receive 119 & 110......is there anyone close that could advise......can ship dish down with me.....

Not all. Just the locals from the So. Florida spot beams, and Dish Network's NY locals on TP20. You can still get NY and SF on TP15.
I have a home near Mahaual, south of Tulum, and want to set up my Dish system there. My question is this, would I be better off to have a fixed antenna or one of the RV antennas that adjusts itself? From what I have read you need to put in your zip code to obtain the proper alignment, and of course that will be impossible. Any suggestions?

I was left with the idea that Dish signal was no longer available in most of Mexico.

Apparently the matter was left dead and cold just like this thread, where I see the last post before today´s is from 2010.

I had an RV antenna (self adjusting) and you need a zip code. Also, I do not believe their signal receiving strength is as strong as a fixed dish. Check the foot print of the needed satellites for Tulum to see if the footprint even covers it. You may need a larger fixed dish.
