I'm moving at the end of the month out of my apartment building and into my fiancee's house. I still have 1 year and 5 months left on my DVR contract. He is not under contract on his HD service. We want to keep his HD receiver and programming. He already has a dish. I don't.

How can we merge the accounts?

DirecTV is not making this easy. So, I wanted to get your opinion.

Thanks!

First; WELCOME to SatGuys!

Unfortunately in reality they are still two totally separate legal contracts, BUT maybe after you get married there might be some legal leg you can stand on to get DirecTV to change/merge the two. As it is right now, they are correct. Sorry.

Hi charper!

Thanks for the welcome!

He is not under contract. He paid full price for his own receiver.

But you are under your own contract, and my theory is that until you are married, they have all legal right to maintain you as a separate "person". After marriage they may consider you as one.
