I haven't gotten the dish yet have been able to measure it, it is 40"x 43". Rather large, but it came from a former retailer that is having some roof work done. The mount on it is about 3"-4" in diameter. Is there a Ku motor that will fit, or would this be better as a stationary dish? I still need to get a reciever, don't know if I want to go thru with the trouble of this dish, but I think that it may be good.

search threads for primestar, p*, and minibud. You should be able to either mount it as stationary, or take the heavy metal stuff off the back, and remount it to fit on a motor by dropping a lot of that heavy metal weight.

If I am not mistaken, there is a heavy duty motor some are using with Primestar and DTN(winegard) dishes. Some have taken the mount off, rotated it 180 degrees to where the hole is up, then used cut pvc around the arm of the motor pole to make it fit. If you search, you should be able to find the pictures and instructions.

Good luck, and post some pictures if you can.

that dish is a good find. i have the same dish. horizonal is 40 in. and vertical is closer to 43 1/2 in. the only problem is i do not have the three legs to hold the feed. does your legs attach to the side of the dish or are fastened to the inside? mine go to the out side. i would appreciate it if you could give me the lengths if they fasten to the out side of the dish. i tried making various sizes but they wouldn't work correctly. could not find a company that makes them. tnxs.

well i mounted my primestar on a sg 2100 but its very heavy and i took the original mount off and made a lighter one . and i really like the one GrumpyGuy made

heres the linkhttp://www.satelliteguys.us/showthread.php?t=83246

if you use the inverted STAB motors post us a picture
you could use the original mount but would probably have to adapt the mount up to it. i think the STAB is a more heavy duty motor but i also think its a bit slower.

But a cure for that is to select a Horizontal transponder. The reciever will send 18 volts to the motor versus 13 volts for Vertical and drive the motor faster.

mine also mount on the inside but here are the measurments to the dish edge
you would need to add just a bit more in length to mount to the outside edge

side arms are 33inches from the lnb holder to dish edge (its another inch to center of the outside of the dish, this is due to a bowing of the arm)
bottom arm is 23 3/4 from lnb holder to the dish edge (its another 1/2 inch to center of the outside of the dish)

the focal distance from the lnb holder to the center of dish ( between the four bolts is 29 1/2 inches ( this is the important part)

you might can call both the places listed and see if they have the arms

thanks BKP i might have to order a couple ( in case)

tnxs gabshere, appreciate the info on the arms. i already have the collar for the lnb. dow electronics is a great source for parts.

No Problem, George...

Yeah, I agree Dow Electronics is a great source.. But, no prices in the catalog and I didn't see anywhere to order..

i usually just go to the dell electronic web site and check out items i need and call the toll free number 800-627-2900 to order. usually get somsri on extension #336.
