I installed a swm dish on a pole because of tree issues approximately 190 ft from my house. The dvr I have installed in my living room signal is in the high 90's and is working fine. The receiver I have upstairs has signals in the high 80's but I only get sound and the picture is frozen. Before I rule out a cabling issue I wanted to see if anyone knows the max distance from the dish to receiver is. I have it currently connected to a 8 swm splitter would using a 2 port swm splitterake a positive difference?

Using a 2 way splitter should help. The 8 way is reducing the signal too much.

You lose 12 db's with an 8 way. A 2 way should take care of that but you might still have a cable issue. You shouldn't see that happening if 1 receiver is fine
