Max Distance Between DPP44 & Power Inserter

Does anyone know what the maximum distance allowed between the DPP44 and its power inserter? My installation is greatly simplified if I can install the power inserter within 10' of the receivers - about 50' away from the DPP44.

Also, I will be connecting a 501, 508, and 2x721's to the DPP44. Is any sequence better? 501,508,721,721 or 721,721,508,501?

Yea, that will work

Put the 501 or 508 on Imput #1 with the power inserter.

Installed the DPP44 today. It works exactly as advertised. Here's my installation:

DPTwin LNBF on Dish500 dish
2 RG6s running about 75 feet from LNBFs to basement
RG6s attached to Satellite ports #1 & 2 on DPP44 (mounted on ceiling joist)

Output Port #1: 75' RG6 to power inserter then 6' RG6 to DVR501
Output Port #2: 75' RG6 to DPP seperator 2x2' RG6s to Sat1 & Sat2 on DVR721
Output Port #3: 75' RG6 to DPP seperator 2x2' RG6s to Sat1 & Sat2 on DVR721
Output Port #4: Empty
Additional Switch Ports 1: Connect to DP34
Additional Switch Ports 2: Connect to DP34

By the way, all 4 DVRs (plus DVD and VCR) are RF modulated throughout the house as cable TV channels using a couple of Channel Plus SVM-44 (MTS Stereo & S-Video) modulators. Antennaes are all boosted through a 15db vidoe amplifier, so the UHF remotes work throughout the whole house.

I'm considering a similar installation with the DPP44 and DP34 cascaded switches, swapping out my legacy lnbf's for DP models. The only difference is that I have a 3rd dish at 61.5. My question is: Will a legacy dishplayer (7200) work with this setup, in addition to a planned 921 and 721, and 510?. I've heard that the DPP44 does not require legacy adapters. If so, must the 7200 be connected physically to the DPP44, or can it also run off the cascaded DP34? I've seen posts that the 7200 won't work with a DPP44 because it doesn't have a SuperDish check box. Any truth to this, if one is not pointed at 105 or 121? Thanks

The 7200 should be fine - IF attached directly to the DPP44. If you gotta use the DP34, then you gotta have a DP Adapter.

IIRC, in no event will the 7200 "see" the FSS birds (105 & 121), but they CAN be there. Use the 4th input port. Put 61.5 on input #3, 110 on #2, and 119 on #1.

From the DPP44 install guide (My interpretation of page 9):

For models 1000, 2000, 3000, 4000, 5000, JVC D-VHS, 7100, 7200, the DPP44 will emulate a SW64 with inputs 1, 2 and 3; input 4 is not visible. Since these receivers can't support the FSS satellites at 105 or 121, it is recommended that FSS be on input 4.

For the 2800, 3900, 4900 and 6000, it emulates a "SW21 4Sat" which is a SW21/SW64 cascade.

What SimpleSimon says is exactly correct, I'm just one of those anal types that wants to provide more technical info than you asked for.
