Master DVR / Slave Receiver

How come dish doesn't make a Master DVR / Slave recevier similar to Verizons FIOS system?

I think it would be great.


Features:
2 Sat Tuners
1 OTA Tuner
Supports up to 4 receivers to access DVR programs
1 slave model for SD (SD model should downconvert HD programming)
1 slave model for HD
Monster Sized hard Drive to store >50 hours HD or >400 hours SD or MORE
Each receiver shall also have it's own Sat tuner to view live programming

Well, one, it would probably be expensive, two, would need networking capabilities (with proper DRM and such, another issue), and three, then they couldnt charge a DVR fee on each box !

But it is a good idea, if only!

sure they could charge for the DVR access receiver fee.

So it's 9.99/month for the MEGA DVR
and 4.99/month for the access receiver or somthing like that

I care about the fees up to a point.... but the functionality and versatility would be huge....
plus they could actually use the ethernet ports.
