On Major Crimes, are we going to discover Dr. Morales’ first name?

Series creator James Duff likes how you think, Ilona! “If you guys really want to know Dr. Morales’ first name, I will give him a first name,” he told me. “Jonny [Del Arco] has come to me a couple of times and said, ‘Can I have a name?’ — it’s like that episode in Voyager when The Doctor tells Janeway, ‘I’d just like to have a name’ — so I’m thinking about how to introduce it and what the name will be. You know, it took me six seasons to give Provenza a first name! I just wouldn’t do it.”
The two-part season finale concluded the other night. Overall, I enjoyed the season--it's was okay--and look forward to the world's oldest major crimes unit returning in the Summer...barring death, broken hips, etc.
I wasn't sure if I should restore this old thread or start a new one but I just watched (DVR) the series finale of Major Crimes. I feel like I am saying goodbye to a group of old friends. I was just wondering if there is any chance TNT could be considering another spin-off of this series which is itself a spin-off of The Closer. It seems to me that the story line about Julio's transfer and promotion was "shoehorned" in and had no real relation to the main story. The rest of the team seemed to stay intact other than Buzz's move to the academy and they could be considering him for Julio's sidekick.
One thing I really liked about this show is that the characters were very likable compared to some of the new shows where I would not even want the main characters to live next door. That and I followed Mary McDonell over from my all time favorite show, Battlestar Galactica.

don't think there is any plan for a spin off. as for mary mcdonnell, she is underappreciated as an actress. she has 2 oscar nominations and 2 emmy nominations but no wins. i first saw her when she played carter's mother on er for one season. she is brilliant!!!
My wife and I watched both "The Closer" and "Major Crimes" and are sad to see it end. About the last episode,
Anyway, "Julio and Buzz"? I think we can close the book on our cast and say goodnight and thanks for keeping us entertained and thrilled for all these years.
I has an issue on Rusty shooting Stroh in cold blood like that, then Provenza saying he shot him instead. With the real police fighting with issues of racial shootings and cops covering for other cops, it left a sour taste in my mouth. Rusty will have to live with this for the rest of his life and pretend it didn't happen since that's the narrative. For someone who is working to uphold the Law, he's going to be quite the hypocrite.
And wouldn't Internal Affairs note that a) the bullets the killed Stroh did not come from Provenza's weapon, b) Provenza's weapon had not been recently fired, c) Provenza did not have GSR on his hand or clothing? So now the whole LA Police Department is covering up the Stroh murder.
I would have written the scene on the boat to have Provenza tossing the cuffs to Stroh, and Provenza being distracted by Rusty coming up the stairs, allowing Stroh to pull the gun out of his shoe and threaten Provenza/Rusty. Then Rusty can unload his clip into Stroh and be honest about it.
I'm not sure why the writers wanted to end it the way they did, but up until that last five minutes, I was okay with the way the story was playing out. Also disappointed that Brenda/Kyra Sedgwick didn't pop in for a FaceTime cameo. Blah!

Yes, I thought about the last few minutes of the show and it seemed hastily concluded. I guess we have all seen too many cops shows to accept that there would be no investigation into a police shooting. Provenza could have at least concocted some story about him taking Rusty's gun from him earlier and had it on him at the time.
between major crimes and the closer, the cast has had an excellent run. playing the same character for 13 seasons is a rare accomplishment.
One of things I found amusing during "The Closer" era was for one hour, Billy Burke was the Bad Guy (Phillip Stroh) and then the next hour on "Rizzoli and Isles", he was a Good Guy (FBI Agent Gabriel Dean).
