bought this unit 2 years ago. i used it for 6 months and gave it to my son after. gave it back to me a year in a half later and he said, it quit workin. he said he forgot to take it down one day and it was so hot that day. i'm assuming it got overheated from the sun considering it's inside the car and right next to the windshield. now what it does is, when you turn it on it boots but it hangs for a long time.

does anyone have this issue before with their gps??? or any solution??? i do not have any back up software or some sort for this unit. thanks in advance.

There should be a small hole somewhere on your unit. Press a pen or paperclip in there to hard reset it. It may then slowly restart itself. If not, restart it yourself. Might need to do this 2 or 3 times.

Then you can connect to the Internet via USB to update firmware, if your model supports this. Or via SD card slot, if you have one.
