Local paper here says that on Jan 1 we will lose local FOX and ABC due to Dish dispute. They are lousy SD channels anyway, because HD is not carried. I am lucky because I can easily pick up HD locals OTA but due to terrain many cannot. Direct and Cable are big players here as they both have full HD local offerings. Looks like Dish has given up on this market.

Local paper quotes the same old story - both sides blame the other, station owners say Dish will not pay, Dish says station owners want many times the going rate.

Local NBC is running a scroll at the bottom of their picture saying that they will be dropped from DirecTV after December 31 if an agreement is not reached...so nobody is immune.
Local FOX/CW/MYTV is not carried by DirecTV for the same reason.
