I just got my refurb'd 11.6" MacBook Air - SWEET!!
Migration Assistant could have been of use if it was more controllable
and if I had lots of software and data to move to the Air. But that
wasn't the case.
I copied my Documents folder to a scratch drive and massaged it down to
3Gb or so. This data was all I needed, included was iWork, MusicReader
and Finale data files. I'll move over the usenet data when I go on a
trip, but for now it isn't needed.
I installed iWork, Finale, MusicReader and the drivers for my
scanner/printers as needed.
Then I let MobileMe sync do its thing. Everything synced up just fine,
but 'top hits' main screen in Safari is whatever it wants to be instead
of the setup I prefer. I'll fiddle with that later.
This Air is one slick box. Very fast powerup boot since it has SSD
instead of HD for a drive. The screen is very crisp and clean. I had
worried that the 11.6" screen would be hard to read, it isn't at all for
almost all things, and I can zoom for those times when it isn't.
While it is very light and slim, it feels very solid. Impressive build
quality.
