Lowering package question

First off, I am new to this satellite stuff. Been with cable for a while but want to make the switch mainly for sunday ticket. If I was to sign up for a service (say the premier for ST) for four months, would I be able to drop that service down after that time? Basically I'm looking to get the Plus HD DVR package but also want to get Sunday Ticket. Is that possible? TIA.

Actually, a couple more questions.

#1) I'm probably just going to the Costco sign up thing, but will I be able to hook some of the admins up with referrals through that (as well as save myself 50 bucks)?

#2) Is there anything else I should know? I mean, about equipment and whatnot. Things to look out for, I guess.
