Hello, I was wondering if I could get some help with my problem. I have two VIP 222 receivers installed in my home which are meant to work on 4 TV's. The first receiver is located in the basement and that one is sending a signal to a TV2 one floor above in a guest bedroom.

On that second floor, in the living room, another TV is using the second receiver also as TV1 and is supposed to be sending a signal to TV2 one floor above that one, to my bedroom. This has all been working fine until recently after turning off my TV2 in my bedroom the night before, I turned it on again the next day to find out my TV is showing nothing but snow on the channel it is set for which is 22.

I've checked the other TV2 in the guest bedroom which receives a signal from the basement and it works just fine on channel 22. I don't understand why my upstairs bedroom TV stopped showing anything but snow and I've scanned through all 69 channels finding nothing.

The modulator setup for both receivers is set for cable and channel 73, and both are in dual mode.

I haven't called Dish Network about my problem yet because i'd like to try and fix it myself, so if anyone can help it would be truly appreciated.

Thanks.

Unless I'm missing something you said it's set to ch73 so your tv would have to be set to 73. Sounds like you need to change the turner setting on your tv so it can go to ch 73.

Hi, how would I go about doing this? Both TV 2's in the house are somehow programmed to show on channel 22, and the other one that is getting a signal from the other receiver works just fine on that channel. But both receivers in the house have the modulator set for cable 73 on TV 2. This is what has me confused the most.

I tried figuring out how to set my TV to go to channel 73 but I saw nothing in the menu settings that allows this.

Why don't you just change the modulator set-ups to 22 on the receivers. Dunno how you were getting anything on 22 if it was set to 73???

I just change my tuner setting on my tv from cable to air and I received my TV2 out put on CH22 but my TV2 out put is set for ch73 cable and I got the picture.
On my JVC TV: AUTO TUNER SETUP> TUNER MODE: CABLE AIR > START
Sounds like that may be your problem. I think you need to play with the settings on both.
Good luck.

OTA ch 22 and Cable ch 73 are close in freq. The op needs to change his input type to Cable instead of air. Some label it AIR some VHF/UHF some say ANT. Anyway you have it set to that go in the menu and change it Cable, and you will be good to go...;)

OTA goes 2-69 when you switch it to Cable, it will go all the way to 125.

in your TELEVISION menu setup, change input type from air (or antenna) to cable and the re-scan the channels.
then it will search for channels beyond 69.

instead of changing your TV.. change the 222 ... where it says cable swith to air.. the channel number will change from 73 to 60....

HOWEVER.. this will not fix the issue... make sure all of you connections are right and finger tight.. If the diplexer is outside then check for dammage.. (rust, mud, excessive dirt, sitting in a puddle, et cetera)...

It could also be your separator, or rg59 in line, if you have any wall plates that are not properly rated that could mess with signal...If you are running lines through a surge protector then bypass it to see if that helps...

I know you don't want to call dish.. but you probably should... there is only so much that can be diagnosed sight unseen.
