lost program guide

I turned on the tv this afternoon and there was no program guide. No Info on all channels, although each channel doew work.

What's with this?

I keep my stb on 24/7, so is this possible the cause? Does Voom recommend putting stb in standby by using the remote to turn it OFF, or is it ok to leave the stb on allthe time?

Some others throughout the country have reported loss of program guide information today.

Can Wilt or someone comment on the possible reason?

I did a soft reboot 4 hours ago and still no guide. I plan to do a hard reboot by pulling the power plug before going to bed tomight, and hope that the guide returns in the morning.

of time trying different things to fix it. That was a
complete waste of my time :( So I am mad to know that
there wasn't anything I could do to fix it. I would

My receiver complete flipped out last night. I had to come home, listen to
wife complain, then completely reset it and red-button it until I got it
behaving. Needless to say I had no guide data after all that.

I lost the signal on all three receivers last night at 9:00pm and when they re-aquired at 9:08pm the program guide was gone. It's now 10:43am and still no PG. I put them in standby and even did warm and old boots so now I guess we wait and see if the PGs come back.

Just to let everyone know this will happen with all Satalite tv. I had Dish and Direct and this
will happen from time to time.

So, if a soft reboot does not help, and a hard reboot does not help, what do I do next?

If this is a system wide Voom problem, then it would be helpful to learn about it. If not, maybe Wilt or Dragonfly Mom can offer some advice.

I have 4 VOOM IRDS here all owned not leased all have guides

I have the phone line connected to each one as in the pass without them been
connected I had to do too many reboots

[VOOM] Wilt, further info on PG problems in Seattle

Last night when my partner tuned on VOOM a few minutes later he had a
lockup (happening every couple of days now) and did a power button
reboot. He doesn't remember if he ever got the PG back.

Just turned on here to check and found can go to VOOM screen, select
All Channels and get channel listing but no info. Going to All HD and
selecting gives us nothing but "There are no programs of this type"
which was preceded by "New information is being downloaded from the
satellite...(or whatever this box usually posts). Cannot seem to
select a channel by using the # such as "201" but can use the channel
up and down button. Whoops, just checked again and can now select by
using ch. #. Never had this particular problem before.

[VOOM] PG guide

Lost the PG here last night after a hard reboot because of lockup.
Usually comes back after an hour or so. Not back yet after 18 hours
got to be something technical. Vooming in Albuquerque.

I get the same message when I go to ALL HD, and it has been this way for 2 days now.

Similar reports of NO INFO in program guide have now come from New Mexico, Washington and California.

Anyone else out there or is this just a West Coast thing?

Customer support at Voom said the problem is on Voom's end and is caused by some downloads they sent the otherr night, and that we should put the stb in standby, rather than leave it on over night.

But we hear all sorts of things from customer support. Hopefully, Wilt will track down this problem.

FWIW, I just hard-booted my stb (unplug, wait 2 mins, plug back in) and the
PG came back in < 5 minutes! That's a record here!

Well, another soft reboot (my 4th total reboots) and the guide returned after 1 1/2 hours Sunday evening.

Other than this ocassional issue, still loving VOOM and ready to drop Dish once HGTV becomes available in sd package. I keep Dish basic for this single channel for the family.

Also had the problem but after 4 reboots and leaving the box on ch 100 for a few hours, everything came back.

Okay, here's a "duh" for you.
There was a problem with the guide data over the weekend--it was
centralized and therefore not any local you the individual boxes in almost
all cases.
There was a bit of a breakdown in escalation and it went on a lot longer
than it should have.
