lost my nbc ota

i received nbc over the air from columbus ohio for about 5 months, tonight when i got home from work the rec was off, so i did a channel scan for the local channels, now i cant get nbc to come in, what happened? does the channel scan lose channels everytime you us it or it has something to do with the ota? antenna
