Lost all signal in Mobile, Alabama, Sunny day...

Yeah here in OK clear day came home and my system said it was looking for service now its back up.

Hey all - mine went out earlier (around 4:00 or so) and I checked and saw this thread so figured I'd wait a bit... but it's still out.
The satellite signal is zero for 110 & 119... if it was just an uplink I would still have sat strength - right?
I'm thinking my LNB has just bit the dirt... it's only about 8 years old now...

Naw when the uplink goes down the signal dies. Tried a reboot?

3 reboots. Powered off for a couple of hours. Checked cables (disconnected / reconnected) all the way to the LNB - they all look to be ok - no corrosion, etc...
Only thing I haven't tried but will tomorrow (too dark to mess with now) is stretching a new cable directly to the LNB...

Going through the switch test it runs 38 tests and tells me I've lost both satellites.

It has all symptoms of a dead LNB and/or switch - but the switch test leads me more to believe it's the LNB...

Just checked my equipment date - I have a 625 and got it in '05.. the same time I got the new dish - it's a 500 Plus LNB... so 8 years it's been frying in the sun... :)

Hah, yeah, sounds like your well-aged system could use a checkup :) .

Had that problem on the 20th, with two different systems, today still getting some partial loss on clear day.
