Lost 15-20 points on 110 with a new sw-44

Hi

I replaced an sw-21 with a sw-44 switch, so I could get two tuners for my 622

I never got a great signal on 110, in high 70s due to trees.

Well, some hd was freezing and DSCHD wasn't even coming in last night

I checked levels, 2 are way up at 98, but the rest of dish xponders are at 42-52

I know that is too low.

I do have the sw-44 power inserter in port 1 as needed, and I had to connect the 2nd wire from the 110 dual lnb to the switch as I didn't need it before. The wire looked fine, but could corrosion on the connectors from the wire hanging unused for 3 years cause this much loss? On the wire connector? On the LNB connector? The lnb connectors are exposed, as this is an lnb strapped to my 119 lnb a few years back.

Should I try a new connector on the wire?

I want to know why it is so low before I futz with putting it all back to sw-21's

It sounds strongly like a cable/connector issue. There is no way you should lose that much signal if you've added a new, operational SW44. There should little or no difference from your SW21s.

Ok, replaced the connectors on all 4 110 sides.

Signal went up about 2

Transponder 17, with tnthd and dschd is at 34

I will try to put back the sw-21 I had, see if that helps

Put back the sw21.....

17 is back to 62, and all the rest are in high 70's

Me thinks I have a bad sw-44!!!

Switched to the 'b' connections, same thing. So the sw-44 is definitely bad.
