I know this has probably been addressed already. I just got my HD channels hooked up and I have noticed the sound is lower than the SD channels. It was the same way on my OTA but I thought it was because of the antenna. But even ESPNHD, DHD and all the others are like that too. I am running an optical cable to my receiver then using RCA cables over to my TV (I don't always watch TV through the stereo). Can someone please help?

What is the wattage distribution of each channel on your A/V head unit? Converting multi-channel audio into 2 channel audio may also explain it. Do you also get the lower output when you leave the multi-channel audio alone?

My bad, I just realized that I also run a pair of RCA cables straight from the HD Receiver to the TV. It is only the HD channels that are lower in volume.

So you think it will releave it to just run it all through the stereo and play the HD channels throught the stereo??
