Will a DirecTV installer come out and do a LOS survey like some Dish installers will? If so, should I call DirecTV or is there a local installer in the central Illinois area I should call?
I have Dish and am thinking of switching to DirecTV when my contract is up in October. With Dish I get excellent signals on 110, 119 and 61.5. I used to have a dish pointed at 129, but some tree growth dropped my signal down into the 40's, so it was repointed to 61.5. I think I could still get 129 if I moved the dish to the back of the yard and elevated the mount. The tree is one of our main shade trees on the front of the house, so it's kind of necessary.
Anyway, what do you think my prospects are for getting good signals on the DirecTV birds?
What about future considerations with new satellites?
