Looking for ideas regarding programming for a local LPTV.

Hi guys,
About a year ago, I met a man who owns 2 LPTV Translators that somewhat serve SE Seattle (Issaquah & Renton). One was broadcasting PBS & the other was broadcasting CBS. This was not ever a money maker, as both PBS & CBS cover utilities and maintenance on the transmitter site only. Both of these translators were designed to serve an area that was w/o cable for many years and the locals needed the translator for their OTA and it filled a area well. I was over at a friends house, playing with a OTA antenna & could not see either translator and decided to call him and see what was going on. He explained that when both station originating programming went digital, he did not want to "put any more money into the translators” & turned them off. I am having lunch with him this week to help him make a decision as what to do, instead of letting the licenses expire. The first thing we will do is notify the FCC that he is requesting his license to become a LPTV, compared to a translator, so he has the option of originating programming. He also may apply for a flash cut (convert to a digital signal) and eventually drop the analog. I am making this thread to get input from the people who enjoy TV programming. What suggestions can you give as far as programming? The transmitter site does not have a dish at all, but does have plenty of room to install one if needed. RTV, AMG or Whitesprings TV would work maybe.
Make up and plug in some local commercials for the income.
All offer some good programing, for me I would pick RTV first out of the 3 but the others do very well also.

RTV is already OTA on Kiro, not sure about AMG. WS is not here locally yet. I assume they are on a barter system?

Yea, if you'll run so many hours of WhiteSprings programming daily, they'll give you a receiver.

Personally, I don't think much of WS as a stand-alone Analog channel.
Is there any chance he could have one digital carrier and run multiple 480 digital feeds?
We have a station here in LA, on channel 18, which services the immigrant communities.
They have 6 or more subchannels! -

There's also a 250 watt,, yes, very low power digital station with subchannels.
KFLA-LD is on channel 8 and currently is running two of the subchannels, with two more available for lease.
One is Whitesprings, and the other is America One.

Anole, thanks for the great input. I had forgotten about America One, which I used to watch on C Band, back in the late 90's. I will contact a friend at the NTA about the subs if he is able to do the flash cut.

Rtv, ThisTv , Classic Arts and Untamed Sports on the subchannels for Tulsa

Untamed Sports is outdoor type programming. Hunting Boating etc..

I'm in Darrington. I get nothing OTA but watch KOMO news on the internet stream on my HTPC. They announced this morning that they are broadcasting ThisTv on subchannel 4.2.

If you have an adult community with an HOA in the area, they might want to lease a sub-channel to use to broadcast activities and affairs.
