Hello neighbors!!

I am located in Bloomington - So, I'm right between you guys...

I am looking at buying a HD receiver as well of a dish. Do you guys have any recommendation?

Thanks much!!

J

I'm in Shakopee so pretty much a neighbor :)

sure. It's just sitting in my spare bedroom collecting dust. I have the mast and everything if you want it. just PM me :)

I can't recommend a dish to you but the MicroHD receiver works great, I've got two that have been on 24/7 with no issues.

I repeat, welcome to the site, and repeat also the microHD from SatelliteAV. There are 2 resellers that may be mentioned that are selling it cheaper, However, Brian is a member here and will walk you through any possible problem you might have. If you see one of his signatures, you will see E-bay specials you should check out.

what kind of programming do you want to watch? satellite av has k-band setups that have been mentioned but they don't have c-band. a dish larger than 6' might be hard to find but lots of old dishes out in the country are available if you keep your eyes open. the microhd receiver is the best on the market now. i have one that i really like. charlie

yup I recommend the MicroHD...have had it for a couple months now and LOVE it!!!

It does pretty much everything I need it to do

Thanks for everyone for your recommendation!! I am a newbie, so package deal will help me tremendously....

I would like to get some channels like, AMC, all of the ESPN channels, and some movie channels... I would like to keep it more of a PG 13 channels since I still have a 15 yrs old living at home...

I do have a HD antenna to pick up all of the local news channels, but not AMC or ESPN.

All of your help and your expertise are greatly appreciate it!!

J

If you are looking for free signals from ESPN or the AMC stations, then you will be greatly disappointed with any FTA setup. It is just not available. The best you could do is catch some wild feeds for sports.

I hate to bring bad news, but most of us that are in the FTA hobby also have a sub to a major provider like Dish, DirecTV, U-Verse, or a cable provider.

The FTA hobby for me provides news channels without prejudice, great oldies, movies that are not first run, and a lot of fun tinkering with setup and alignment trying to eke out the most possible signal from my 76cm Ku dish and my 6' WSI c-band dish.

My neighbors think I am cuckoo, but I can share some of the high quality wild feeds with them and they share their beer with me.
