Hello all. I am a newbie that just got everything set up with FTA but I am wanting some reading material. Something that possibly lists some of the consistant daily wildfeeds for shows and what is where and the additions/subtractions of channels month to month.

I know we can't talk about wildfeeds, but I am interested in what is on everyday and where to find it and also have an interest in horse racing and hockey, but don't know where to look.

Maybe a PM about the horse racing a hockey would help me there.

Can someone point me in the right direction as the only magazines I see are Orbit and Onsat, but I have never read either and don't know what is best.

Thanks.

Orbit has been around forever, back in the C-Band days I remember reading it and trying to figure out how to piece a scrounged-up dish together (that never happened :) )... I haven't seen the magazine in some years, although I've heard it is around. The problem with feed listing is that these things come and go, and one never knows where they'll be. Past experience can sometimes give a hint, but the best tool for finding feeds is a blind scan receiver.

I'll second the vote for Tele-Satellite Magazine , eventhough Lyngsat has a better updated channel list , the satcoDX program accessible thru the code found in the magazine is alot of fun to play with , I also like the articles on receivers and other FTA accesories.

I couldn't agree more. The best solution is to find the feeds yourself. That way we're not dependant on information being posted in public places, which could have negative long term consequences.

Actually, I'd recommend anyone who's really interested in feed hunting and willing to spend the money, to look for a good previously owned spectrum analyzer. One of the best investments I made in this hobby is a satlook digital, I picked up ebay for around $500. This is the easy way to find feeds in a matter of minutes. Not to mention that it makes setting up and aligning dishs much quicker and easier. Also for some types of signals, like DCII or 8psk, it's the only way to find feeds.
